An Ordinary Chair For Smaller People
The Origin includes the basic features that you’d expect from a low-end chair, including basic adjustable armrests. The armrests do adjust but are not 2,3, or 4D like you will find on mid-higher range chairs. These basic armrests will probably suffice for the younger gamer who isn’t too concerned about ergonomic comfort, and just wants something a little better than an average chair. For older or more hardcore gamers, the basic armrests probably won’t cut it. It isn’t just the armrests that may not be suitable for more mature gamers, the size of the chair itself although on a full-size frame, caters more for smaller people. This means that the weight and height limit is on the lower end, with the weight limit at 68KG, and height limit for the user at 5ft 6inches.
The height of the chair can be adjusted via a gas lift mechanism, and the backrest can also be tilted but not locked in a tilt position. This means the chair does have its drawbacks, not only in user height and weight limits, but also in its functionality. It would, however, be a better alternative for those currently using a dining chair as their gaming seat. The seat also doesn’t feature neck or lumbar support cushion. It isn’t as quick to adjust the tilt function as you will find in pricier models. On the plus side, the chair does feature mould shaping foam to the seat and back for additional support and comfort. The Origin comes with standard nylon casters, and a steel frame supporting the main body of the chair. Overall, gamers can expect a fairly comfortable and adjustable chair but should be aware of the limitations.
Design Alternatives & Original Accessories
The Origin can be purchased in several colour options, these include quite flamboyant neon shades. The colours include a standard black option, black and white, neon green and black, neon orange and black, and neon red and black. Unfortunately, there are no additional accessories available for the Origin, it also does not include any extra cushions for the neck or back.
As mentioned, the chair isn’t suitable for most adults. With a low weight limit at 68KG and a height limit of 5ft 6inches, most adults would not be comfortable in it. More expensive models often have greater weight and height limits for users, but this is a middle of the road chair for smaller people. Although it can be adjusted to some extent to accommodate the body shape of the user, unless they are very light and very short, the Origin just isn’t going to cut it. Those looking for a chair that is suitable for taller and heavier individuals may wish to check out the mid-higher end of the DXRacer range. For children or smaller individuals not looking to spend a lot, however, the Origin should be sufficient.
